Life coaching is not the same as therapy or counselling. You don’t need to have a problem to seek the services of a life coach, although some people do. Life coaching is about helping individuals find their own solutions, their own path to goal achievement.
Life coaching takes you on a journey of self-discovery - it makes sense of your past experiences and gives you clarity for the future. Life coaching differs from career coaching in that it takes a broad and holistic view of your life goals, whether these be to improve your relationships, finances, health, self-esteem or just to find time to rekindle a hobby or something you’ve always been passionate about.
Life coaching encourages you to dream. It allows you to imagine the ideal life you could have and then helps you create a plan to achieve all you want to be and do.
How does life coaching work?
A life coach provides a structure help you assess where you are today, decide on what you want to change, discover where your blocks are to achieving your goals, create a roadmap for change, and to stay focused and on track.
Our method of life coaching is based on teaching you how to make conscious choices and to break the habitual or reactive patterns which keep you stuck, or take you further away from the life you really want to live.
We will help you to become aware of the power of your beliefs, values and rules, and how they influence your attitudes, behaviours and habits. Armed with that increased self-knowledge it is so much easier to take constructive action designed to help you make positive and powerful changes in your life. This commitment to taking action is what makes our method of life coaching so effective.
Many of our clients have a lot of knowledge about personal development, they just don’t know how to implement that knowledge on a daily basis. That’s where the Twelve Step "Free To Be Me" method of life design and goal achievement is invaluable. It provides a systematic, step-by-step framework designed to help you achieve your goals – fast!
Coaching is generally one hour per week, either face to face, by telephone, email or a combination – you let us know your preferred communication style! You schedule calls or appointments with your coach at a time convenient to you.
